The story of the match

Luis Suárez scored early, Layvin Kurzawa turned the ball into his own net before half-time, and Lionel Messi scored a penalty to make it 3-0 on the night. Then Edinson Cavani scored for PSG, and because of the away-goals rule Barcelona needed three more goals with half an hour left.

For a long time it looked impossible. Neymar scored a superb free-kick with two minutes to go, then a penalty in stoppage time. In the fifth minute of added time Neymar chipped the ball into the box and Sergi Roberto stretched to volley the winner.

Key moments to watch for

  • Suárez, a Kurzawa own goal and a Messi penalty make it 3-0
  • Cavani’s goal leaves Barcelona needing three more
  • Neymar’s free-kick and penalty in the last minutes
  • Sergi Roberto’s winner in the 95th minute

Why it’s one of the greatest football matches ever

It is the biggest comeback in Champions League knockout history. More than 96,000 people were inside Camp Nou, and the noise at the winning goal was reportedly picked up by a seismograph in the city.
