The story of the match
It was not the free-flowing City of the league season. Inter defended well, Kevin De Bruyne went off injured in the first half, and City looked nervous.
Midway through the second half Rodri met a pull-back from Bernardo Silva and curled the ball into the corner. Inter pushed hard at the end: Federico Dimarco headed against the bar, and Ederson made a late save from Romelu Lukaku’s close-range header.

Why it’s one of the greatest football matches ever
The win completed a treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, something only Manchester United had done before among English clubs, in 1999. Rodri later won the 2024 Ballon d’Or, and this goal was the biggest of his career.
